How to Get the Old Classic Layout of Photo Viewer in Facebook

Posted by on Wednesday, 8 February, 2012

Facebook has rolled out a Google+ style photo viewer that displays user comments and ads next to the picture in an overlay window, without leaving the current page. Thus, you don’t have to scroll the page to read the comments and the photo viewer adjusts itself as you re-size the browser window.

Certain Viewers are finding this new layout very distracting as the new photo layout takes up the entire screen space so is there any shortcut or browser plugin to use Facebook’s classic photo viewer ?…the answer is yes..There is a way by which you can switch back to the Old Classic Layout to view photos in Facebook and you don’t need to download any script or plugin to get the Old Classic Layout of Facebook Photos.

Three simple way to back

00

Method 1

While the photo viewer is active, press F5 on your keyboard (or hit the “reload” button in the browser) to refresh the Facebook photo page. This should open the photo without the overlay.

Method 2

Whenever you see the ugly Facebook photo viewer with a dark background, click the browser address bar and remove “&theater” from the URL and hit Enter. This will switch to the older Facebook photo layout

Method 3

the easiest option is that you hold the CTRL key while clicking the thumbnail of any photo on Facebook and this should open the corresponding photo in a new tab but without the lightbox effect.

Facebook’s Timeline available to everyone

Posted by on Thursday, 15 December, 2011

The service’s new Timeline profiles, which Facebook introduced nearly three months ago at its annual conference, is now available to any of the site’s 800 million users who decide to activate it.Timeline gives you an easy way to rediscover the things you shared, and collect your most important moments. It also lets you share new experiences, like the music you listen to or the miles you run.

Here are some tips to help you get started.

7-day review period

When you upgrade to timeline, you’ll have seven days to review everything that appears on your timeline before anyone else can see it. You can also choose to publish your timeline at any time during the review period. If you want to see how your timeline appears to other people, click the gear menu at the top of your timeline, and select “View As.” You can choose to see how your timeline appears to a specific friend or the public.

Feature or hide stories

As you explore your timeline, you may see stories that you want to feature, like your graduation or the day you bought your first bike. There might also be stuff that you want to remove or hide from your timeline. Use the privacy drop down to adjust who can see any of your posts. You can even select “Only Me” for posts you want to keep but don’t want others to see.

See all your activity

With timeline, now you have access to a new tool called Activity Log. Your activity log is a place where you can review all your posts and activity, from today back to when you first started using Facebook. Only you can see your activity log.

Get timeline today

To get timeline, simply go to the Introducing Timeline page and click “Get Timeline.” Or you can wait until you see an announcement at the top of your profile. timeline will also be available on Android and m.facebook.com.
